From insight to direction
Thoughtful conversations. A strategy you can use.
Start with the real question.
We examine your audience, current messaging, and the disconnect you want to address. Your experience and existing evidence shape the conversation.
Make the connections.
For the strategy engagement, I develop positioning, a value proposition, and core messages grounded in your audience’s needs and reasons to trust your work.
Discuss the emerging direction.
Your strategy engagement includes one 20-minute discussion before the presentation to clarify questions and confirm priorities. This is separate from the introductory fit conversation.
Leave with a shared foundation.
We review the strategy at the presentation, followed by one consolidated revision round. You and your team or partners own implementation. The assessment provides prioritized recommendations and a findings discussion instead.
What the thinking looks like
See the shift from describing the work to explaining its value.
Illustrative examples only. These are not client case studies or claims of results.
For an independent consultant
The starting point: “I offer leadership workshops, coaching, and team assessments.”
The strategic question: What is the client trying to improve, and why is this approach relevant?
A more focused direction: Help growing teams address unclear expectations and difficult management conversations. Support the message with relevant experience, a clear method, and evidence the consultant can substantiate.
For a nonprofit
The starting point: “We offer mentoring, workshops, and community events.”
The strategic question: What does one priority audience need to understand before taking part or supporting the work?
A more focused direction: Connect each program to the need it addresses, explain who it serves, and show credible evidence of its value. Messaging for participants and funders may require separate priorities.
Scope and investment
Focused support, with room for one agreed addition.
The strategy package starts at $3,000 for one service or program and one audience. Add one service for $750, bringing the total to $3,750, or one audience for $1,000, bringing the total to $4,000. We confirm the added scope, fee, and timing in writing before the additional work begins.
The assessment is $1,250, paid before work begins. Strategy engagements are paid 50% initially and 50% before the final presentation. The service agreement confirms your specific scope, dates, and cancellation terms.
I provide strategic direction, not execution or project management. Where relevant, the strategy can clarify responsibilities and inform practical systems for your team or partners.
Before we work together
Questions about strategic support
Who is this marketing strategy consulting for?
I work with independent consultants and nonprofits who have a service or program to offer but find their value difficult to explain or their marketing isn’t connecting. We focus on understanding the audience, leading with the solution, and building trust.
Which engagement should I choose?
The $1,250 Messaging Clarity Assessment identifies gaps in your current message and what to improve first. The $3,000 Positioning & Messaging Strategy develops your positioning, value proposition, core messages, and supporting proof points.
What is included, and how long does it take?
Both engagements focus on one service or program and one audience. The assessment takes approximately two weeks and includes a written assessment and findings discussion. The strategy engagement takes approximately three to four weeks and includes one 20-minute discussion of the emerging strategy before the presentation, a strategy presentation, and one consolidated revision round.
Do you handle execution or project management?
My role is strategic guidance. You and your team or outside partners own implementation and project management. I help establish clear direction, clarify responsibilities, and inform practical systems that support the strategy.
Can we include another service or audience?
The strategy engagement can include one additional service for $750 or one additional audience for $1,000. We confirm the added scope, fee, and timing in writing before the additional work begins. The assessment stays focused on one service and one audience.
What happens after I submit the questionnaire?
I review your priorities and, if there’s a potential fit, invite you to a 20-minute introductory conversation. We clarify your goals and the right starting point before committing to an engagement.
